New term Crown lease in the Western Division

Before you apply

  1. This application must be submitted by the current leaseholder or a person authorised to submit on their behalf.
  2. If you are unsure if this is the correct form to submit, please call the department on 1300 886 235 to discuss.
  3. Prepare the supporting documents you may have to support your online application form.

Additional information for expiring Term leases in the Western Division. This includes term residential leases at Lightning Ridge Opal Fields (known as Camps on Claims).

The department is committed to offering new term Crown leases to replace the existing term WLL, where possible.

Existing leaseholders will be contacted by the department 2 years prior to their expiry date to commence proceedings for a new term Crown lease.

The department will not be considering any application for a new term Crown lease any earlier than 2 years prior to the expiry date of the existing lease.  The application will be assessed according to the expiry date of the existing lease.

  • You will be invoiced for the application fee once your application is accepted.  There may be additional fees charged in the assessment process.
